Vetrix - Next Phaser (PTDIGI006)

Posted by Pathic on November 23rd, 2009

PTDIGI006Vetrix is a Lisbon based producer and professional sound designer who marks his debut on the mighty Pyramid Transmissions with this 4 track EP. Influenced by a wide array of artists, Vetrix’s music is an unusual hybrid of genres, with elements of IDM, electro, breaks and techno all shining through.

This EP comes correct with a combination of intricate rhythms, warm melodies and glitchy abstractions – Dirty Oranges features buzzing pads, mangled samples and modulating synth lines. NextPhaser-Leader1 is a hauntingly lush affair, complete with a bubbling bassline and diamond cut rhythms. Ramping up the pace, Myon Zekt clocks in at 150bpm with some particularly angry sounding 303s. And to round off proceedings, we hurtle off into the ether with the intergalactic funk of Molecular (des)Integration.

From November 23rd you can grab the release from the PT Download Store - And if you choose to buy the EP direct from us you'll get it at the reduced rate of £2.99 / €3.29 / $4.49 for all 4 tracks. Alternatively, the release will be available from Beatport, Addictech, Juno, iTunes and other download stores from November 30th.

TwoFourteen - Camuy (PTDIGI005)

Posted by Pathic on August 5th, 2009

PTDIGI005Seattle based TwoFourteen (aka Chris Roman) effortlessly blends funk-loaded rhythms with downright peculiar soundscapes, on his first full release on Pyramid Transmissions.

Of Puerto Rican descent, Chris grew up in Miami and absorbed the booty-shaking alien electro served up by the likes of fellow Floridians Soul Oddity, and European artists such as Carl Finlow, Scape One, Monolake and 2 Lone Swordsmen. Taking these acts as a benchmark, this new EP demonstrates TwoFourteen’s knack for striking a skillful balance between the nasty and the not right, the cold, the hard, the wonky, and the just-right – The musical backdrop to a lapdance in the side room of a space ship.

Take a listen: Up Per Mid West / Flopsock / Fake Furs / Single Speed / Dropscotch

Grab the EP from the PT Download Store at the reduced rate of £2.99 / €3.29 / $4.49 for all 5 tracks. Or pick it up from Beatport, Addictech, Juno, iTunes and other leading download stores.

Lone Shark - Synchromatic EP (PTDIGI004)

Posted by Pathic on January 6th, 2009

PTDIGI002This EP flits between abstract and funky - Battle Gongs features Lone Shark’s trademark lush harmonics and organic glitchy beats. D-Spot and Krunk both enter 4/4 territory and Pirates sails the high seas with synthy arpeggios, angular beats and sinuous waveforms.

****1/2 - Electro 'Money Shot' - DJ Magazine Jan 2009
