Vetrix - Sun Oblique (PTDIGILP002)

Posted by Pathic on April 27th, 2011

vetrix - sun obliqueWe've been a bit quiet on the releases front of late, but we're delighted to be returning to the saddle with this excellent album from Vetrix.

The Lisbon based producer has come up trumps with this LP - 12 outstanding tracks which have earned comparisons to the likes of Luke Vibert, Bytes era Black Dog, Boards of Canada and B12. But despite the comparisons to IDM of old, there's also something quite unique about this album. It's complex, spaced out, glitchy and a bit unhinged. Yet it still feels organic and brimming with emotion.

Have a listen to the album sampler on our SoundCloud page and see what you make of it. You can also download one the tracks for free.

And if that tickles your fancy, pay a visit to our download store, where you can hear all the clips and buy the full album for a mere £5.49. As from May 9th you'll also be able to grab the LP from Juno, iTunes, Beatport, 7digital and loads of other stores that probably charge more than we do.

V/A - Alternative Networks Vol.2 (PTV009)

Updated by Pathic on April 27th, 2011

PTDIGI006This vinyl EP sees ADJ and Pathic both unleash some serious electro acid tweakery: Chin Up by Pathic features angular beats and a diamond cut bassline, counterpointed with spacious pads and undulating 303s. ADJ’s Old Hat takes the silver box twiddling a stage further, with a more minimal track reminiscent of some of the warehouse destroyers of yesteryear.

Stripping things back further and ramping up the pace, we have Miami based producer FTG. His track, Input Dada, typifies the sound of true Floridian electro - A refreshing dose of alien funk, influenced by the likes of Soul Oddity, Drexciya and Monolake.

To complete the quartet, Seattle native TwoFourteen goes for broke with Slatter Jatter -
A track which comes complete with cut up vocals, elasticated synth sounds and clever Machinedrum programming.

Limited to 300 copies. However, we've still got a handful left over. They'll set you back £5 + p&p. Click here if you want to grab a copy. Although there are no plans to release the EP in digital form, if you're keen on files, each record comes with a coupon to download the release as MP3s or FLACs.

Vetrix - Next Phaser (PTDIGI006)

Updated by Pathic on June 10th, 2010

Vetrix is a Lisbon based producer who marks his debut on Pyramid Transmissions with this 4 track EP.

Dirty Oranges features buzzing pads, mangled samples and modulating synth lines. NextPhaser-Leader1 is a hauntingly lush affair, complete with a bubbling bassline and diamond cut rhythms. Ramping up the pace, Myon Zekt clocks in at 150bpm with some particularly angry sounding 303s. And to round off proceedings, we hurtle off into the ether with the intergalactic funk of Molecular (des)Integration.

You can grab the release from the PT Download Store at a reduced rate or buy it from Beatport, Addictech, Juno, iTunes and other leading download stores. As a little taster, check out this rather awesome video to accompany Molecular (des)Integration:
