This EP flits between abstract and funky - Battle Gongs features Lone Shark’s trademark lush harmonics and organic glitchy beats. D-Spot and Krunk both enter 4/4 territory; the former a warm and fuzzy house cut with an off-kilter jazz hook; the later a more upbeat Detroit thumper, complete with spiraling melodies and bursts of castanets. Lastly, Pirates sails the high seas with synthy arpeggios, angular beats and sinuous waveforms.....Arrrrrrr!

Another slice of sonic experimentation from label founder Pathic and friends.....Pathic contributes two mixes - The summery sounding original and a melancholic, 808 heavy 'Dark Matter Mix'. Label cohort ADJ comes through with the dubby results of unstable chemical reactions. Phase Mojo pushes the experiment into breakbeat territory, with his string-laden rework. Lone Shark puts his own spacey stamp on the track and mashing up proceedings we have a downright filthy remix from The Wee DJs (SCSI-AV/ Touchin Bass / Spacebar Sentiments). Finally, Phil Bolland and Matt Whitehead, aka Signal Type (Cultivated Electronics), tidy up the lab with their techy 4/4 remix and knock off early for the weekend.
